Benny Solís gathered 8 points; bad luck for Josito García
Edgar Pons was on the podium in the first race of the Moto2 FIM CEV Repsol at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit. He took the third spot in a race in which he finished more than 3 seconds behind the winner. In the last laps he suffered a loss of grip from the rear tyre. In the second race, there were some changes made to the Kalex that didn’t work at 100%. Edgar finished out of the podium, riding alone during the last laps to finish fourth, but he did set the fastest lap under a searing heat.
For Benny Solís it was his best weekend up to now, finishing close to the top 10 in the first race. There he found “new” riders to battle with for the first time. In the second race, he felt a vibration in the front brake that, together with the heat, caused an error, but he has taken a step forward, although he has more steps ahead and they will be even more difficult.
Moto2 #57 Edgar Pons –Kalex / 3rd/4th: “The first race went very well, we didn’t expect to be able to ride so fast. But we had issues when braking with the rear grip and I couldn’t enter the corners fast, there was where we lost time from our rivals. I finished on the podium and I’m happy for it. For the second race we change the bike’s setup for the braking points and for some bumps in the las sector. At the beginning, the Kalex didn’t respond well with full tank. I lost some time and when I started to understand the feedback I went out on a corner when overtaking and there I lost some time. I pushed again and, in the end, I rode with a good pace, until the fastest lap that I was able to set in the end. I didn’t get on the podium, but the conclusions are good. I’m happy with the team’s work and looking forward to the World Championship race that comes home the next weekend. We have a good base and we’re doing a good job”.
Moto2 #35 Benny Solís –Kalex / 12th/12th: “I’m happy because, in general, my fastest time is closer to the top riders. We took a step forward in the race. I did a good first round and in the second I made a mistake and went out of track, but the result was the same as in the first one. I rode more consistently than usual and that is positive. I’m looking forward to keep improving like this”.

Josito García didn’t finish the first race in Moto3, he missed 5 laps; another rider kept pushing him and took him out of the track. In the second race there were two red flags. A grid was formed for 6 laps, but our rider didn’t finish either; he crashed in a hard braking when he was trying to improve. The rider from Valencia had a weekend to forget.
Moto3 #20 Josito García García –KTM / NC/NC: “It was quite a bad weekend, I crashed in both races. Now we need to think about Motorland, which I’m sure will be better. Thanks to all my mechanics, who did a great job. Thanks to the team”.
We also want to wish a speedy recovery to Andreas Pérez, who had an accident in the second race and I was taken to hospital by the helicopter. At the moment of writing this release, there is no official information about his condition.

The AGR has its headquarters a few milometers away from this circuit, but we will nearly stay and sleep at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit. Next weekend, Edgar Pons will enjoy his wild car invitation to the Moto2 World Championship. Don’t forget to support him!
For the next round of the FIM CEV, we will have to wait until July 27th at Motorland.
